First of all, I would like say 'thank you' to my Lecturer, Dr. Liyana for being such a good lecturer and educated me for this subject. Without a great lecturer like her, I could have been lost. I really value everything that my lecturer did in so many ways and her teaching skill is great . Thanks for your effort in guiding me, motivating me and spend time to assist us in class especially on the project development and also preparation for presentation.Thank you and God bless you, my dear lecturer!
Now that it’s over, what are my first thoughts about this overall project? Are they mostly positive or negative?
My first thought about this overall project after it is over is mostly positive. At first I do not feel confident with myself because I’m not good in subject like research or something related with statistic and data. I also think that this project is heavy and quite difficult. However, it change positively after I meet with my teammate for this subject. I feel confident to run this project because I have good teammate that I can collaborate with them in term of learning and discussing the initial ideas of the project and analyze the results of the project. We work together very well to discuss about our project. Overall, I really feel grateful that I learn this subject because it make me realize that the purpose of this subject is to teach us on how to develop question for examination and to test the reliability and validity of the question that we as teacher want to give to our student.
What were some of my most challenging moments and what made them so?
The most challenging moments for me is to analyze the data of our project using SPSS. This is because I’m not familiar to run the data inside SPSS. I also not understand and not confident to run the SPSS. I also not confident to explain about the concept of reliability, distractor analysis, item difficulty concept in our project because I’m quite confuse. Therefore, I always ask my teammate about their understanding on SPSS and item analysis so that we can learn together on how to use SPSS and explain the results of our project. We also always refer to our lecturer, Dr. Liyana if we not understanding the topic we study or we do not clear about our project. I feel grateful because our lecturer is very kind and helpful person. She show very high effort to teach us so that we can understand the project and topic of our subject.
What were some of my most powerful learning moments and what made them so?
Most powerful learning moments I have learn is to improve my understanding on using SPSS and the concept of item development and analysis and also the concept of reliability. I study the notes given in class and take note for the important topic especially for the item analysis and to run SPSS. Before this, I am never try to use SPSS to analyze the data but after done our project, I realize that SPSS is not too difficult to run as long as I know the basic concept of the formula to run the SPSS.
What is the most important thing I learned personally?
The most important thing I learned personally is be confident about yourself. I realized that if there is problem to understand the topic, I need to ask and refer my lecturer and also my friends. Then, I need to take note and understand the basic concept in the project.
How did I incorporate the concepts that I have learned so far in the SGDE 4013: Assessment in Learning class, in the Assignment? Which specific topic? What is/are the evidence/examples (pictures/diagrams/newspaper clip/print screens)?
I incorporate the concepts of item development, item analysis, and reliability that I have learned so far in the Assessment in Learning class, in the Assignment. At first, to do the project, I need to plan the item development with my teammate. We emphasize on the target audience to answer our question, set the objective or purpose of the project and come out with the table of justification for the item. Our team decided to provide question for student Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and also under graduated student who have learned Malay Linguistic during Form 6. Therefore, we come out with the table of justification and set 15 objective question and 5 subjective question. Then, the next process in the item analysis is I learn that to build question for students using Bloom Taxonomy model. This is because, we need to have set level of complexity, specificity and difficulty for the question. After build the question, we distribute to students and collect the results. Then, we analyze the marks by entering the data using SPSS. After we get result from SPSS, we analyze whether the item difficulty by looking at the mean, item distractor by looking at corrected item-total correlation and we identify our question reliability based on Cronbach’c Alpha if item deleted. Lastly, we need to justify and provide suggestion in future to develop better item.

How often did I need to revisit lecture notes, textbook, other course materials for the SGDE 4013: Assessment in Learning, when doing the Assignment? Which materials that I referred to frequently (provide at least a print-screen shot of the materials)? Are the materials readily accessible? Are the materials that I needed to work on are sufficiently covered by the instructor in the course?
I rely on the notes given by our lecturer and my friends. Lecture notes given by our lecturer is very sufficient and the content of the notes also very detail. How well did I and my team communicate overall?
My teammate and I can communicate very well. I belief that having good teamwork and good relationship will bring success on everything that we do. This is because, I learn that our project can done successful because of the fully contribution from all my teammate. Good communication make us easy to collaborate, learn and work together. Each members contribute the ideas and understanding to finish this project. Even though, I am not good in statistic and data, but I have good teammate that always support and help each other to finish our project. I am grateful that I have a good teammate and have strong teamwork and surely I feel happy working with my teammate.
What were some things my teammates did that helped me to learn or overcome obstacles?
My teammate give very good commitment and we support each other. It’s mean that we learn together to do the project together and we discuss among each other about the item analysis. From the beginning, we brainstorm the ideas of the project together and make sure each of us know the progress of the project for our own benefit and understanding. Effective communication and toleration among team members make us feel happy to run this project together.
What could I do differently from a personal standpoint the next time I work with the same group or a different one?
Next time, if I work with the same group or different group, I will make sure there is strong connection, collaboration and good teamwork so that whatever my teammate and I do, it will bring success for our team. If we have strong teamwork, I’m sure everything will run smoothly and we can handle obstacle well like what my team do for this project. At the end of this project development, we say ‘thank you’ to each other for the time, responsibility, teamwork and commitment in order to finish this task.
What did I learn were my greatest strengths? My biggest areas for improvement? Provide at least one work example/evidence.
My greatest strength for this project is that I can know the whole process of the project development. My biggest areas of improvement is that I learn from zero until I gain knowledge. I realize that what I have study in classroom, I apply it for this project. For example, the project start with item development then item analysis, reliability and suggestion for the item in future. I also confident to run and use SPSS to analyze data in future.
What’s the one thing about myself above all others I would like to work to improve?
I want to burst my confident level. I have good confident level but sometime, it not consistent. Therefore, I want to improve on my confident level so that I can express myself to be better teacher in future. I understand that to become a teacher, we need high and consistent confident level so that we can teach our students and guide them properly in their studies.
